Connecting the Dots

This blog is designed for the students of Dr. David E. Herrington to guide them in exploring the connections between the writings of Peter Senge on Systems Thinking and Learning Organizations, the concepts of Professional Learning Communities of coauthors Richard DuFour, Rebecca DuFour, Robert Eaker, and Gayle Karhanek, and Stategic Planning as articulated by John Bryson. In coming days I will be writing a number of blog postings to assist you with each assignment. The good news is that they actually flow naturally with each assignment scaffolding or building on the previous assignment. The second good news is that you will have very specific and detailed assistance to go from one step to the next.

First things first. Let me clarify your assignment requirements.

1. There will be only one due date for ALL assignments. That date is April 26.

2. The assignments will be presented in one continuous document in MicroSoft Word.

3. Please provide a heading so that I can know when one assignment ends and the next begins.

4. An assignment dropbox entitled Semester Assignments has been created in e-course for that purpose.

5. Until the e-course and true outcomes are fully usable, this blogsite will be the primary communication with you. My email address is provided and is davidherrington360@gmail.com If you need to speak to my contact number is 979.203.0613.

6. Please visit this blog site on a regular basis for specific information regarding how to complete each assignment. I will post daily on this site until all assignments and reading have been fully explored and clarified.

5. Your syllabus and assignment instructions will continue to be housed in the PVAMU e-course website.

6. Later in the semester I will ask you to upload portions of your assignment in True Outcomes. Watch this blog site for further instructions in that regard.

Let me complete this posting with the assurance that you will receive the guidance you need to be successful -- in the course, on the TExES exam, and in actual administrative practice. When it is done you will find that this course was one the best you have ever taken. So lets move forward. NEXT BLOG TOPIC: An overview of each book recommended for the course. How to use them.

  1. Have you added any assignments at this time because currently the only thing I have done is finish reading the books. Secondly is there some sort of a outline that we need to follow for all of the projects that are due because honestly I am VERY very lost.
